She began her career with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California and obtained her doctorate degree in 2014 from Rosalind Franklin University.  She has been practicing for the past 20 years with a heavy emphasis in pelvic floor rehabilitation.  Her robust training includes coursework from Herman and Wallace Institute, the APTA Section On Women’s Health as well as Advanced Bowel Training coursework with Jeannette Tries of Marquette University and Visceral Manipulation with Gail Wetzler.  She has shared her pelvic expertise through assisting in courses as a lab instructor and provided peer education (LUMC) for SI/spine assessment framework and osteopathic manual approach.  She is qualified in and has experience in treating a variety of pelvic floor muscle-related diagnoses in males, females, and children.  Working in orthopedics with pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain was Kelly’s gateway into the pelvic world.  In addition to helping in peri-partum healthcare, Kelly enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions.  She takes joy in seeing patients return to their sport, recreation, work or daily life activities better.  Providing customized patient-centric care is her forte.  Before opening Mend, she worked at The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (inpatient neuro rehab followed by outpatient orthopedics) and Loyola University Medical Center (outpatient) and alongside a colleague at Perform (2017).  Kelly enjoys running with her dog, pilates, nature, volunteering at church, cooking, and spending time with her family.
